Tuition Assistance

Families may be eligible for tuition assistance based on family size and income - free tuition or on a sliding scale. You must turn in a Learn 'n Grow application packet first, then we will contact you to complete the universal application form. 

One universal application form, the Michigan Early Childhood Connect application, is used for all tuition assistance applications. Applications should be completed in the spring or summer before preschool begins. Families who earn 400% of the federal poverty level qualify for tuition-free preschool. 

The Great Start Readiness Program is Michigan’s state funded program that provides tuition-free preschool for qualifying 4-year-olds attending a 4-session a week program. 

Learn ‘n Grow receives a limited number of GSRP grants, and they are awarded based on need. Once all income eligible families are enrolled, families that fall outside the income guidelines may be considered for enrollment. These families will receive free preschool as described by the AAESA guidelines.

Information regarding tuition costs will be provided to families meeting the criteria. Families applying for the GSRP funded tuition will receive a refund of their registration deposit.

The Bennett family, a long-time Otsego family, donated $500,000 to Otsego Public Schools to be invested for early childhood education. With the construction of the new Learn 'n Grow Early Childhood Education Center, this money was set aside for scholarships to help Otsego families with the tuition cost for preschool. 

With its growth in investments, we have been able to award $35,000 - $40,000 in scholarships to our families each year since the Early Childhood Education Center opened in 2019.

Partial and full scholarship applications will be available for families who need tuition assistance. Please indicate your need on the application. 

Families must be residents of the Otsego Public Schools District to qualify and must provide W2 information at the time of submitting their application.
